Piotr Maciej Kaczyński
A regular writer and speaker on EU and international matters. Previously a researcher with leading think tanks in Poland and Brussels. Since 2014 he has been training EU and member states civil servants as well as politicians and business representatives. Member of the European Commission Representation in Warsaw Team Europe. A regular contributor for Euractiv (Brussels) and Onet (Warsaw).
Trainer
I am a certified external trainer with the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA). I have provided training sessions for over 1,000 people working in the European Parliament, the European Commission or the Government of Bulgaria (in the context of the 2018 EU Council Presidency).
I offer training sessions on the European decision making for business and other interested parties in English and Polish. Among my partners are Ernst & Young, KPMG and ZPP (Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers).
Public Speaker
Throughout my professional career I have spoken at numerous events on the European integration throughout the European Union, as well as in the United States, Mexico, Serbia, Saudi Arabia, Myanmar, Canada and Turkey.
As a member of Team Europe Warsaw I participate in debates in Poland related to the European integration. I am also a regular contributor to the Europejski Uniwersytet Latający of CEO.
Writer & Researcher
I have published academically and journalistically with opinion pieces in a various of European media. A list of my publications is available here. On top of that, I have provided three expertise reports in the context of Poland’s preparations for the Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2011. Currently I provide regularly texts to media in Brussels (Euractiv) and Warsaw (Onet) as well as to my blog dedicated to the European politics.
As a researcher, since December 2019 I am a Senior Fellow with the Warsaw-based Centre for International Relations (CSM). I am also a non-resident Associate Research Fellow with the Prague-based Europeum Institute for European Policy.
In the past I worked in the Warsaw-based Institute of Public Policy (ISP) and in the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) in Brussels and published with SIEPS in Stockholm and ELCANO (1), (2) and (3) in Madrid.
Background
Graduated in International Relations, Warsaw University (2002) and European Affairs, College of Europe (2004). Analyst and Project Manager at the Institute of Public Affairs, Warsaw (2004-7), Researcher and Head of Programme at the Centre of European Policy Studies (2007-12), Political Advisor, Polish Delegation of the Group of the European People Party in the European Parliament (2012-14), Lecturer and External Lecturer, EIPA (since 2014).
